1906
3 to 5 feet
Discovered in Germany in 1906 by Hermann Kiese, Blumenschmidt is the distinctive primrose-yellow sport of the beloved Mlle. Franziska Krüger. This Tea rose showcases large, full blooms (26–40 petals) in soft lemon-yellow with pink-tinged outer petals and a fresh green center; an elegant color blend that stands out beautifully in the garden.
Its blossoms carry a moderate fragrance and appear mostly solitary, repeating in flushes throughout the growing season. The shrub itself is vigorous, arching, and well-branched, often noted for its smooth canes with few or no prickles. Compact foliage enhances the charm of this historic variety.
Adaptable to a wide range of climates (Zones 5b–10b), Blumenschmidt makes a unique addition to Tea rose collections, combining antique grace with a cheerful, luminous palette.
