AT THE NURSERY & DISPLAY GARDENS:
Lead Gardener
We’re looking for an experienced Lead Gardener to join our team and help care for more than 8 acres of beautiful display gardens and grounds at Antique Rose Emporium in Independence, Texas.
This is a hands-on garden position for someone who loves plants, enjoys working alongside a team, and takes pride in creating beautiful, healthy, well-maintained spaces.
In this role, you will:
- Help care for and maintain our extensive display gardens and grounds
- Prune, train, and maintain roses, including climbing and rambling varieties
- Plant and maintain roses, perennials, shrubs, and companion plants
- Maintain garden beds through weeding, watering, mulching, pruning, and general upkeep
- Monitor plant health and help identify and address gardening concerns
- Prepare gardens and grounds for peak bloom, visitors, and special events
- Help organize daily garden tasks and priorities
- Work alongside and help train other members of our gardening team
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards for garden care and presentation
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has 3+ years of hands-on gardening, landscaping, nursery, or horticulture experience
- Has strong plant knowledge and a particular appreciation for roses and gardens
- Enjoys teaching, sharing knowledge, and working alongside a team
- Takes pride in creating beautiful, healthy, well-maintained spaces
- Is comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Can handle the physical demands of hands-on garden work
- Is dependable, organized, and able to take initiative
- Can work on-site in Independence, Texas
- Has formal horticulture education is a plus, but not required

Gardener
We’re looking for a dependable, hardworking Gardener to join our team and help care for the beautiful display gardens and grounds at Antique Rose Emporium in Independence, Texas.
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working outdoors, loves plants, and takes pride in keeping gardens healthy, beautiful, and welcoming for our visitors. From pruning roses and pulling weeds to planting, watering, and preparing the gardens for special events, you’ll be an important part of keeping our gardens blooming throughout the seasons.
In this role, you will:
- Help maintain our display gardens, rose beds, and surrounding grounds
- Plant and care for roses, perennials, shrubs, and companion plants
- Prune, deadhead, and train roses and other garden plants
- Weed, water, mulch, fertilize, and maintain garden beds
- Monitor plants for signs of pests, disease, or other health concerns
- Assist with planting, transplanting, and moving plants throughout the property
- Help prepare gardens and grounds for peak bloom, visitors, and special events
- Maintain clean, organized, and attractive garden spaces
- Assist with seasonal garden projects and general property maintenance
- Work alongside the gardening team and help wherever needed
We’re looking for someone who:
- Enjoys working outdoors and doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty
- Has a genuine love for plants, gardening, and roses
- Is dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn
- Can perform physically active work throughout the day
- Can lift up to 50 lbs when needed
- Is comfortable working in Texas heat, cold, and changing weather conditions
- Pays attention to detail and takes pride in beautiful, healthy gardens
- Can work independently while also being a team player
- Is willing to jump in and help with a variety of tasks
- Has gardening, landscaping, nursery, horticulture, or agricultural experience a plus, but not required

AT THE PRODUCTION FIELDS:
Shipping Clerk + Field Crew
We’re looking for a dependable, detail-oriented team member to join our year-round position that changes with the seasons, allowing you to work both behind the scenes and hands-on in our growing fields.
In this role, you will:
During shipping season (September - May):
- Prepare, pack, inspect, and ship customer rose orders
- Ensure orders are accurate, carefully packaged, and ready for shipment
- Prepare and manage shipping documents and supplies
- Help keep the shipping area organized and running smoothly
- Assist with inventory and other seasonal fulfillment tasks
During the off-season (some winter months and during summer):
- Work alongside our Field Crew caring for growing roses and plants
- Weed and maintain field-grown plants
- Assist with general field maintenance and seasonal garden tasks
- Help with rose petal harvesting and preservation
- Support other seasonal projects as needed
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is organized, dependable, and pays close attention to detail
- Enjoys a mix of hands-on physical work and task-oriented work
- Is comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
- Can lift up to 50 lbs. and stay active throughout the workday
- Works well independently and as part of a team
- Is flexible and willing to jump in wherever needed
- Can work occasional weekends or extended hours during peak shipping periods
- Has shipping, warehouse, inventory, agricultural, or production experience — a plus, but not required
- Speaks Spanish and English — a plus, but not required

Field Crew
We’re looking for dependable, hardworking team members to join our Field Crew at Antique Rose Emporium in Independence, Texas. This is a hands-on position working directly with our roses and plants throughout the growing season.
If you like working outdoors, staying active, and getting your hands dirty, this might be the job for you.
In this role, you will:
- Care for field-grown roses and plants throughout the growing season
- Weed and maintain growing fields and plant rows
- Water, fertilize, prune, and perform general plant maintenance as needed
- Assist with planting, transplanting, and moving plants

- Harvest and preserve rose petals and other seasonal plant material
