8 to 15 feet

Few roses are as storied, or as sensorial, as Zephirine Drouhin! Discovered in the 19th century and cherished ever since, this Bourbon climber is celebrated for its deep pink blooms with soft, glowing white centers and an unforgettable, strong damask fragrance that perfumes the garden with every flush.

Her large, double blooms (17–25 petals) are borne close to the canes on short stems, creating a lush, romantic display in spring and repeating through the season. With few to no prickles, Zephirine Drouhin is especially well-suited for training along porch columns, pillars, arches, or walkways- anywhere you’ll want to pause and breathe her in.

Growing roughly 8–15 feet tall and 6–8 feet wide, she can be trained as a climber or maintained as a large shrub. Her light green, matte foliage provides a soft backdrop to her vivid blooms. While vigorous and hardy in zones 5b–10b, she benefits from good air circulation and attentive care, including removing spent blooms to encourage rebloom.

A rose of history, fragrance, and old-world elegance, Zephirine Drouhin is a timeless choice for gardeners who value beauty with a story.

We do ask that you make sure the weather in your zone is suitable for receiving and plating your roses.

Antique Rose Emporium is in Texas and the December weather can be anywhere from below freezing to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. But our weather is extremely mild compared to the northern United States.

We want you to have the best success possible with your roses and ask that you let us care for them over the winter and receive them at the time that you plan to plant.

Please ensure that you are not experiencing freezing temperatures and the ground is not frozen when you plan to receive your rose.
