'R. carolina', also known as the Carolina Rose or Pasture Rose, is a species rose native to North America. With beautiful yellow open stamens, she is naturally a favorite for native pollinators when she's in bloom, which is usually late spring to mid-summer depending on your climate. Blooms are an average diameter of 2" and single-petaled. Fragrance is described as being strong, and this rose is armed with thorns.
Avoid deadheading to allow her spent blooms to turn into beautiful red rose hips to feed wildlife and give your garden extra color. As long as she's placed in full sun, 'R. carolina' is mostly disease-resistant.
