RECENT FIRE: Some of you may have heard about the recent fire at our retail store in Independence Texas. Luckily, the fire only affected our retail sales office. The gardens, inventory and most importantly, our moral was left intact. We are open for business as usual and the gardens are looking as incredible as ever. We anticipate peak bloom to be late March through April. We will rebuild and look to you, our customers, for creative input. If you have any ideas to incorporate into this structure, we would love to hear from you - please email us with your ideas. We wish to thank our customers for their concern and continued patronage at this difficult time.

We frequently hear this comment, and we've got the answer!
Growing antique roses can be easy and we will show you that with proper selection, you will be overwhelmed with their success in your garden. We think these roses are the "best of the best" of our antique roses.

MIKE SHOUP'S ROSE RECOMMENDATIONS .

In my many years of growing roses, these roses have never failed me. Their performance is outstanding in my garden, providing color interest and fragrance all season long. Better yet, they require no special attention whatsoever. So, those of you who wish to expereince assured success, I recommend the following "Tried and True" roses.

Hedge or Specimen Roses: Old Blush, Mutabilis, Mrs. B. R. Cant, Penelope, Maggie, or Belinda's Dream,

Container or Low Border Roses:The Fairy, Perle d'Or, Martha Gonzales, Gruss an Aachen, Cecile Brunner, or Marie Pavie,

Climbers:New Dawn, Cl. Pinkie, Buff Beauty, Lamarque, or Zephirine Drouhin.

We have been asked many times to provide more images of our two Display Gardens on the website. Now you can can tour our gardens and learn About Us . If you haven't been able to visit us in person, hopefully this will give you incentive to plan your trip real soon! Enjoy!
